Fairway Electrical Offers Directional Drilling Services in Hamilton
Horizontal directional drilling boasts many benefits. It is a cleaner alternative to digging trenches. It minimizes disruptions to traffic. Because it occurs underground, it also doesn’t affect living developments or farmland. We install utilities without delaying everyone’s busy schedules. People can go about their days without having to deal with our progress. In many cases, you’ll never know we were there.
Directional drilling also enables faster installation. Because of the depth of this drilling, we can bore under the freeze line during the winter. This allows us to begin and finish jobs earlier.
Our drilling underground will not disrupt any vegetation. Instead, we will create networks for utilities underneath crops and other valuable goods. We believe in directional drilling. It is ideal for sustainable communities and our beautiful cities.
HOW HORIZONTAL DIRECTIONAL DRILLING WORKS
A horizontal directional drilling (HDD) rig bores a hole or tunnel at a horizontal angle. This hole connects from one location to another. These two locations can be in the same unit or across town. Horizontal drilling essentially makes it easier to drill. It does so through the use of electric sensors and mechanics.
Electronic sensors control this machinery. These sensors are in the bore head. They show the location of the drill head below the surface of the ground. These sensors trigger directional changes without interrupting the drilling process.
The HDD rig operator makes small adjustments. These corrections make sure that the drilling can go under foundations, around trees, or underneath water. Upon completion of the pilot hole, a reamer is pulled backwards while still rotating. During this step, we will enlarge the size of the hole to fit and install a pipe. We can drill hole sizes that range from 2” inches to as large as 24 inches. We lubricate the reamer with an environmentally friendly drilling mud. This helps to stabilise the hole.
After we install, we clean up the area. We remove any extracted materials and surplus drilling mud from the site. This leaves a clean, unaffected work site and a minimal impact upon the environment
